Why Activism Isn't Working: EuropeΓÇÖs Silence on Palestine w/ Stichting Handala

If you’re tired of surface-level “solidarity” and want to confront the deeper imperialist structures, this conversation is for you. Please follow Wasim & Ruben from Stichting Handala 👉 https://www.handalafoundation.nl/ Europe likes to see itself as a force for peace and humanitarian aid — sending food, donations, and “solidarity.” But what happens when this compassion never challenges the systems of empire, famine, and poverty that Europe itself sustains? In this broadcast, we explore how EU media and politics carefully control the narrative on Palestine, how parties like VOLT betray their own promises of independence, and how even activists and journalists fall into self-censorship — creating 100 filters between genuine anti-imperialist politics and power. Wasim spent the first 23 years of his life in Gaza, giving him a rare and deeply personal perspective on how the region has changed under blockade. After moving to the Netherlands, he joined forces with Ruben and continued his activism in solidarity with Palestine. Ruben is a Dutch activist rooted in grassroots movements across Amsterdam, including Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). Building on that shared experience, the two recently co-founded Stichting Handala, a platform for Palestinian solidarity and anti-imperialist work.
