✊ 24 Uur Waken en Hongeren voor Palestina
📍 Brussel – 6 & 11 september 2025
Wanneer de staat niets doet, moet de straat wel in beweging komen. Met die oproep verenigden tientallen organisaties zich tijdens de 24 uur durende solidariteitsactie in House of Compassion.
De actie werd gedragen door Palestinian Refugees-4-Dignity, House of Compassion, Louis Paul Boonkring, Hart Boven Hard, Pax Christi, Union des Progressistes Juifs de Belgique, Globe Aroma, Workers 4 Palestine, Broederlijk Delen, Welzijnszorg Brussel, CAW Brussel en ondersteund door Stichting Handala.
Samen vroegen zij om rechtvaardigheid voor Palestina en een krachtig signaal van de Belgische én Europese politiek.
📜 Programma Hoogtepunten
- Zaterdag 10:00 ΓÇô Welkom & Gaza Monologen ΓÇô Getuigenissen en bijdragen van Pax Christi en Palestijnse artsen en slachtoffers (te bevestigen).
- Muziek en Kunst ΓÇô Carmina Kamerkoor bracht J.S. Bach, Palestijnse dichters en muzikanten traden op, en het Brecht Eislerkoor zong strijdliederen.
- Film & Poëzie – Slam-poëzie door Asma Soulista, “J’accuse” van H. Boubker (Workers for Palestine), en de film Le Cantique des Pierres met regisseur M. Khleifi.
- Doorlopende wake ΓÇô Palestijnse kortfilms, muziek en nachtelijke waakmomenten.
- Slotmoment zondag 09:45 ΓÇô Gezamenlijk afsluiten van 24 uur hongeren en waken.

🎯 Onze Eisen
- Respect voor internationaal recht en beëindiging van genocide, apartheid en kolonisering.
- Stop diplomatieke, economische en militaire samenwerking met Israël.
- Respecteer het aanhoudingsbevel van het Internationaal Strafhof.
- Steun Palestijnse vluchtelingen en asielzoekers in Europa.
Daarnaast expliciete oproepen naar de Belgische en Europese politiek:
- Druk zetten op regeringen om krachtiger stelling te nemen.
- Onmiddellijk staakt-het-vuren ondersteunen.
- Effectieve sancties tegen Israël.
- Volledige erkenning van de staat Palestina.

ΓÇ£When the state remains silent, the streets must rise.ΓÇ¥ With this call, dozens of organizations came together for the 24-hour solidarity action at House of Compassion.
The action was organized by Palestinian Refugees-4-Dignity, House of Compassion, Louis Paul Boonkring, Hart Boven Hard, Pax Christi, Union des Progressistes Juifs de Belgique, Globe Aroma, Workers 4 Palestine, Broederlijk Delen, Welzijnszorg Brussel, CAW Brussel, and supported by Stichting Handala.
Together, they demanded justice for Palestine and a clear signal from Belgian and European politics.

- Saturday 10:00 ΓÇô Welcome & Gaza Monologues ΓÇô Testimonies and contributions from Pax Christi and Palestinian doctors and victims (to be confirmed).
- Music and Art ΓÇô Carmina Chamber Choir performed J.S. Bach, Palestinian poets and musicians performed, and the Brecht Eisler Choir sang songs of struggle.
- Film & Poetry ΓÇô Slam poetry by Asma Soulista, ΓÇ£JΓÇÖaccuseΓÇ¥ by H. Boubker (Workers for Palestine), and a screening of Le Cantique des Pierres with director M. Khleifi.
- Continuous vigil ΓÇô Palestinian short films, music, and nightly vigils.
- Closing Sunday 09:45 ΓÇô Collective conclusion of 24 hours of fasting and vigil.

- Respect for international law; end genocide, apartheid, and colonization.
